PaC: practicing acts of commons / placing artists in common / practicing artists commoning / utm

PaC is a gathering/ walk/ ramble for artists. Together we walk, explore and create a commons of exchange and support to strengthen one another’s practice. Monthly meet-ups take place in the New Forest area.

We enact commoning as a social practice and action, a process of forming new knowledge and collective ways of being. PaC understands the commons not as an object, but as a social act. PaC activities are inspired by the ancient agricultural commoning practices of the New Forest. PaC directly puts into action More Than Ponies’ intention to survey the New Forest as a real and metaphorical site for idea generation and contemporary art making via the inter-relationship of people and place.

  • PaC was intitated by, is convened by and is an artwork by artist Laura Eldret. It is made possible with the monthly commitment of core PaC artists James Aldridge, Gemma Gore, Alys Scott-Hawkins, Melanie Rose and others who have previously walked with us.

  • We welcome human and even occassional animal guests, if you are interested in joining us say hello on mail@morethanponies.info.
