About PaP:
Until Sept 2022 PaC was PaP a peer group for artists, supported by aspace arts, with monthly meet-ups happening across the New Forest. Together we carry out creative investigations into the area and providing a forum of support, sharing, caring and exchange to strengthen one another’s practice. We meet IRL to walk, sit, talk and often eat together ( which we continue to so so but now under the moniker of PaC, read more about now here)
PaP artists are James Aldridge, Laura Eldret, Gemma Gore, Annabel Pettigrew, Alys Scott-Hawkins and occassional human and animal guests. If you are interested in joining us say hello on mail@morethanponies.info.
We explore as a form of creative commoning, forming new knowledge of the area and collective ways of being. Our activities mirror the ancient agricultural commoning practices of the New Forest, which question accepted patterns of ownership and artistic authorship. PaP directly puts into action More Than Ponies’ intention to survey the New Forest as a real and metaphorical site for idea generation and contemporary art making via the inter-relationship of people and place (PaP).
In 2020 we collaborated on PaP Mail, in 2021 we were commission for Traversing Terrains. In Spring 2022 we will co-creating a ‘creative commoning’ print work and event. PaP was initiated in 2019 by Laura Eldret as part of MTP (More Than Ponies).
Sessions normally run approx 10am - 1PM
We have online lunchtime reflections approx 1 week post meetups
No fee is paid or charged for attending group.
In 2022 PaP artists will be coproducting a ‘creative commoning’ print work and event ( Sat 14 May) exploring wider contexts/ ways of collaboration, community economies, common licensing and co-production.
PaP is an artists’ peer network, initiated by Laura Eldret as part of MTP (More Than Ponies) and generously made possible with supported from ‘a space’ arts, Southampton. Funding is used to cover the costs of the organisation and sharing of PaP activities, and to provide fees for those partaking in the production of 'Creative Commoning’.
